Hambleden Green Belter: Saturday 10th July
We are on the move again for the 3rd instalment of The Rat Race Green Belter Series with our travels taking to Hambleden Estate near Henley-on-Thames. Having already hosted a great event, Horseplay, earlier in the year, it has become an instantaneous favourite venue, and the entries are filling fast for this event. This fantastic estate has a great blend of trail types draped over undulating hills covered with natural forest. With the Thames nearby and some horsey obstacles to play on, it makes an ideal spot to layout another Belter format for you to enjoy. Feedback from GBs 1&2 has been tremendous.
Spread the word and let’s get a very excitable crowd of Green Belt adventurers at this event. We will be closing entries on Wednesday 7th July at 1800 however we will also be taking entries on the day. Please read all the information in this mail-out, as there may be a few things to plan ahead on here. Feel free to email us with any queries at info@ratracegreenbelter.com.

Belter Format
Whether you are running or you are on your bikes, the colour-coded looped course will guide you around this tranquil estate and surrounding countryside showing the best of what Hambleden has to offer. Each loop will have mix of ups and downs, narrow paths and tracks and even a bit of quiet country roads for the longer biking section for you to enjoy, returning every time to the event village. In the midst of the course we will also slide some trademark Hambleden obstacles for you to conquer along the way. No hints on what or where they will be but be prepared to get a bit wet & muddy! During the event you’ll take a short run to the Thames for a little paddle on our user friendly sit-on-top kayaks.
The course is fully waymarked, and it’s just ‘point and shoot’ to complete this course. All the instructions you will need will be provided for you on the ‘Belter Brief’ which is handed out on the day. Feel free to take it with you, there will be course map on the flipside.
See our Belter Event Info page here, and the Hambleden details to date here. On this page you will see that we have released the Course Map for your viewing pleasure.
Kit Update
You don’t need much kit or any ‘adventure race’ experience to give this course a good hiding. Keep fit, get some biking skills in and make sure your bike is reliable, then it’ll all come together. Get ready! We’ve updated the mandatory kit list to include a bike bell & a mobile phone. Mandatory kit is important for your safety and the safety of others. Please check the full kit list here for details.
