When 1000 of you lined up on Nairn Links back in September, you were the first to blaze that multi-sport trail across the Highlands. When you reached the Isles of Glencoe 1 day, or 2 days later, we knew some of you would want to come back. So we’ve opened entries for the 2011 event and we have let you inaugural Coast to Coasters know before we start spreading the word. We are offering a superb Super Early Bird deal throughout November with prices held at 2010 rates, going up a wee bit in December and then the full 2011 rate kicks in on 1st January 2011. If you use your Rat Rewards code too (more on that below) you will save more too!

What’s new for 2011
Having created what we hope is set to become a classic, not much is changing for 2011. We are increasing the capacity in both Racer and Challenger Categories. Experts will remain limited to 50 places. For the Racers, we are moving the Event to the Saturday, to allow the easing of competitors over the route and to allow capacity at the Isles of Glencoe Hotel. We have the same mix of great accommodation deals, offering more transport options from the finish line, upgrading to a technical finisher t-shirt for all classes and, later in 2011, we will bring you another great range of special edition Coast to Coast kit from our retail partners the Rat Race Store.

Start line Spa Luxury - Golf View Hotel (for all categories)

The Golf View Hotel in Nairn is a top-flight 4* hotel with pool, spa and sweeping views of the North Sea coast. It’s also a 5 minute walk to the start line – an ideal base for those setting out on the Coast to Coast.

Fort Augustus Upgrade - The Lovat Arms Hotel (for Challengers ONLY)

If camping is not for you, then our Fort Augustus upgrade allows you to bunk up in 4* boutique luxury at the Lovat Arms Hotel at the mid-point of the route. Gourmet and boutique are words that are thrown around a good deal in the hotel trade, but at the Lovat they don’t use these terms in vain. Dinner here is a real treat; take our word for it. The beds are massive too. Just what you need when you’ve got 56 miles of Scotland under your trainers and saddle and another 53 to go!

Journey’s End – Isles of Glencoe Hotel (for all categories)

Our Journey’s End package provides you with B & B accommodation at the Isles of Glencoe hotel, perfectly situated directly at the finish line, where you can almost touch your room from the finish line. It’s also a very short stumble to and from the Coast to Coast after-party, which will be operating in the grounds of the hotel once again. This package is offered Saturday or Sunday nights, depending on whether you are a Racer or a Challenger.

Journey’s End – The Ballachulish Hotel (for Racers and Experts ONLY)

Our Journey’s End package provides you with B & B accommodation at the Ballachulish Hotel on the Saturday night. On the shores of loch Linnhe and Loch Leven and at the foot of the dramatic Glencoe, The Ballachulish Hotel provides a warm welcome all competitors. Please note that this hotel is located 2 miles from the finish line.

Travel back to Nairn from the finish line

One-way travel from the finish line at Isles of Glencoe Hotel back to Nairn for yourself, your bike and all your gear for a price of £30 one way. This service can be booked to leave:

Saturday 17th September from the Isles of Glencoe Hotel at 21:00
Sunday 18th September from Isles of Glencoe Hotel at 10:00
Sunday 18th September from Isles of Glencoe Hotel at 21:00
Monday 19th September from Isles of Glencoe Hotel at 10:00

Approximate journey time is:
Isles of Glencoe to Nairn: 3 hrs

NB: There is a public Citylink bus service that runs between Glencoe village and Inverness. However they DO NOT TAKE BIKES.

Travel back to Fort William from the finish line

One-way travel from the finish line at Glencoe back to Fort William for yourself and your gear (excluding bike), for a price of £10 one way. Please note that your bike will remain at Fort William transition and will not be transported to the finish line. This service can be booked to leave:

Saturday 17th September from the Isles of Glencoe Hotel at 21:00
Sunday 18th September from Isles of Glencoe Hotel at 10:00
